ARABLAB 2020 Rescheduled

ARABLAB 2020 RESCHEDULED
The organizer decided to postpone ARABLAB 2020, which originally scheduled to take place earlier in March this year due to the overwhelming concerns of a majority of exhibitors, visitors, principals and agents who normally attend the event over their ability to travel to the Show and the Health & Welfare of their staff, due to the increasing spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) globally.
Whilst the international laboratory sector like all industry has considerably suffered due to temporary closures of global business facilities, the organizer wants to make sure that re-scheduled dates for ARABLAB 2020 provide a highly successful event once again for the regular “ Quality Visitors and Exhibitors” who normally attend this event from over 100 countries.
The provisions of the rescheduled event are confirmed as below:
- Date: 22 – 24 March 2021.
- Venue: Dubai World Trade Centre – Saeed Halls 1,2,3 & Arena Link
All in all, the postponement of the original date (16 – 18 March 2020) was necessary to protect the health and safety of exhibitors and visitors from the coronavirus pandemic around the world. As a sole representative from Malaysia, we will be there in Dubai on 2021. We will be showcasing our product ranges: emergency shower, emergency eyewash, laboratory fittings, laboratory sinks. Be safe and stay healthy, we hope to see all of you in Dubai, UAE next year.

Method – Yayasan Chow Kit Charity Program

On 17th December 2019, METHOD had the opportunity to visit the Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK) at their Pusat Aktiviti Kanak Kanak Chow Kit. The program was held after discussions with the management of YCK and our team – to understand what YCK really needs at the moment so we can help wherever we can. In total, there were 9 representatives from METHOD – including our directors Mr Ng Chee Ing and Mrs Liew Mian Ping – in attendance to spend time with the bright kids and wonderful staff from YCK.
Yayasan Chow Kit is a 24-hour crisis and drop-in centre providing meals, activities, therapy, case management, and educational programmes for at-risk children of Chow Kit. We decided to choose YCK for this program after learning about various services that they provide for at-risk kids, youth, and family. By helping YCK, we hope that we can reach straight to the people in need in the urban area.
The program started with a meeting with the YCK team. YCK’s CEO, Ananti Rajasingam, and her team members were there to explain what YCK did in the past and what YCK is currently doing to help at-risk families in urban KL. Their focus on education, health & financial empowerment for at-risk families in urban KL and also their willingness to help in wide ranges of services – i.e. documentation & legal are very inspiring and we believe it can directly help those in need to survive. After that, we had KFC meals with the kids – courtesy of our General Manager Mr Ng Kah Wui. We played some games and spent time talking with the kids and the staff in YCK for the rest of the afternoon.
All in all, we are glad to be able to meet the kids in the YCK and learn more about their lives. We hope with the time & resources that we are able to share, we can make the kids feel safe and loved because they sure have inspired us with their cheerful positive hardworking attitude throughout the program.
Do’s and Dont’s for Emergency Eyewash and Shower

As a manufacturer of emergency eyewash and shower, we have helped a lot of businesses to raise the safety level of their respective workplaces. Our emergency fixtures have been featured in more than 40 countries around the world for the past 20 years. With the level of experience that we have, we would like to share what you need to do and what you need to avoid to ensure the emergency eyewash and shower can be used effectively and safely in case there is an accident on your workplace.
DO’s
- Ensure that the equipment be used for the purpose for which they are intended for. They only serve to supplement first-aid treatment.
- Ensure that all employees know the purpose of the emergency equipment. Employees exposed to or working in hazardous areas must be aware of the locations of the equipment and properly trained on the use of the equipment.
- Emergency equipment should be installed as close as possible to hazardous workplaces and clearly identified as eyewash or drench shower fixtures. The path to the equipment should be free from obstructions.
- One of the most important consideration when installing emergency equipment is to ensure that sufficient supply of water is readily available to the equipment at all times.
- Ensure that the piping should not be smaller than the inlet of the equipment and have a minimum of 30psi (2 bar) of flow pressure. The ideal flow pressure at all times should be between 30 to 45psi (2 to 3 bar).
- Only products that meet the American National Standards Institute (ANSI Z358.1) / Australian Standard (AS4775) for Emergency Eyewash and Shower Equipment should be installed.
DONT’s
- Do not discontinue the use of protective devices like eye and face protectors and protective clothing. The installation of emergency equipment should not be seen as a substitute for these protective devices.
- Do not use the emergency eyewash unit if it is known that eye injury is due to metal or some other solid fragment. Medical attention must be sought immediately.
- Do not alter the dimensions or heights of the equipment as the recommended height complies to ANSI/AS requirements.
- Do not depend on sink faucets as a replacement of emergency shower or eyewash.
METHOD produces high-quality ranges of Emergency Eyewashes & Drench Showers for the chemical-related industries, laboratories, hospitals, schools, colleges and universities. In line with the OSHA Rules and Regulations, every effort must be made to save sight and skin and alleviate suffering at workplaces in the event of an accident.
